The Members & their Ladies eagerly await their Xmas Fare

For a second year, the December Meeting of Flint Lodge was in the form of a 'Ladies to Dine' evening. The work of the Lodge was kept to a minimum, and afterwards we took great pleasure in entertaining the Ladies to a traditional Christmas repast, complete with all the necessary trimmimgs.

A surprised Worshipful Master receives an unexpected gift

During the after proceedings, The Worshipful Master was very pleasantly surprised when he was presented, by W.Bro Edward Taylor Urwin, with a framed photograph taken on the day of Installation.

The Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro Neil Schofield, then announced to great applause that it was forty five years ago, to the day, that W.Bro Frank Lloyd was initiated into Flint Lodge.

On the left we see The Worshipful Master in the process of congratulating W. Bro Lloyd on his mammoth achievement.

We all look forward to celebrating the next milestone for W. Bro Lloyd which will, of course, be his Fifty Years in Masonry.

After the meal Christmas Carols were sung with some enthusiasm by the Members, Masonic guests and Ladies present, accompanied at the piano by W.Bro Ted Latham.

The Worshipful Master, Bro David Moorhouse, and his Wardens, W.Bro David Roberts and W.Bro Gwilym Renshaw, were persuaded to attempt a rendition of 'We Three Kings', and were applauded for their courage and perseverance under difficult circumstances.

A number of the Armoury's own group,'The Armoury Singers' were present, and were coerced into leading a spirited rendition of 'Good King Wenceslas', and much to their surprise were summoned by popular acclaim to assist with further Carols.

The Worshipful Master then rose, thanked everyone for making such a pleasant evening, and offered Seasonal Greetings and the Best Wishes of the Lodge for a prosperous and happy New Year to all present. The company then retired to the Lounge Bar, and enjoyed a social hour (or so) before retiring.
