Freemasonry in Flint, North Wales

 • Flint Lodge's B.B.Q. •

The afternoon of August 1st saw Flint Lodge's BBQ in full swing. W.Bro Neil Schofield kindly opened his house and gardens, for the third time, to accomodate the 50 plus attendees. Among the many guests supporting our Worshipful Master, Bro. Bill Collings and wife Dot, were W.Bro Len Ellis, PJGD, W.Bro Norman Jones, Flint Lodge's retiring representative and W.Bro Guy Saith Jones.

Also present were brethren from Flint, St. Beuno and Basingwerk Lodges. The barbeque realised the magnificent sum of £400 which included the proceeds of the raffle. It was decided to donate £240 to the 2017 Festival and the remainding £160 to the Flint Lifeboat, which will be presented by the Worshipful Master at a later date.

Mrs. Jean Schofield, Neils mother, again supplied her, by now, famous scones which instantly disappeared.

The barbeque was ably manned by W.Bro Mel Evans and assisted by Neils son, Rob. Both were kept very busy as a total of 120 plus sausages, 70 burgers and 70 drumsticks were consumed by the hungry masses.

Despite warnings, the Worshipful Master's wife, Dot, positioned herself in such a manner as to catch all the overflow from the automatic sprinkling system thus saving her companions from getting wet....
